Another El Greco: The Cardinal

This Cardinal sits at the end of a room in the Met so that it can be seen from several rooms away - or at least it did the last time I was there and has done so for many years.

And it is interesting to note that glasses were probably first worn in the 13th century which is a several hundred years before this painting.
