First signs of spring

I saw the first signs of spring yesterday - a bit odd considering that I'm in the Northern Hemisphere and December is still a week away.

The first seed catalog arrived.

It was from Pinetree Garden Seeds, a nice place in New Gloucester, Maine (whose website is not operational at the moment). We do order seeds from them to plant in old Gloucester every year; they have good selections at reasonable prices.

But I do have to say that I'm really not ready to start reading seed catalogs yet.

I haven't received a Sears Catalogue in a long time, but back in the days when I did, I was always a little flustered by the fall and winter edition (people in woolly sweaters (page 324) and ski pants (page 417) on the cover) arriving mid-July.
